This two-day workshop is designed for intermediate potters with prior wheel-throwing experience who are ready to expand their skills and work at a larger scale. Together, we'll focus on throwing bigger, taller forms and learning how to join multiple thrown sections to create more ambitious, dynamic pieces. Paige Stewart approaches teaching as both a technical and embodied practice. By cultivating presence and refining body mechanics, students will discover that larger work requires greater sensitivity, a slower pace, and a more harmonious relationship with the clay. Through demonstrations, hands-on instruction, and individualized guidance, you'll leave with practical techniques, greater confidence, and a new understanding of what is possible on the wheel. Paige Stewart is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores the relationship between creativity, embodiment, and transformation. Working across ceramic sculpture, installation, poetry, painting, sound, and community gathering, she creates experiences that invite people into a deeper relationship with themselves, one another, and the spaces they inhabit. Her contemporary sculptural work is represented by galleries in New York, Seattle, and Los Angeles. Through abstract ceramic forms, sculptural lighting, and immersive installations, she investigates themes of non-duality, legacy, rest, and the body's innate capacity for healing. Each work functions as both object and invitation—an opportunity to slow down, notice more deeply, and inhabit the present moment. Day 1: Friday, November 13 - Evening Session: 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Day 2: Saturday, November 14 - Morning Session: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. - Break: 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. - Afternoon Session: 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Clay is not provided in the intensive, but is available for purchase in the studio. Non-members may fire work created during the studio for an additional fee if desired. Cancellation policy: Cancellations and refund requests must be made by email to salidaceramics@gmail.com. Requests made more than three weeks before the first class will be refunded in full. Requests within three weeks of the first class will be refunded at 50%, or may be transferred to another participant. Once the class begins, no refunds are available. Orders over $100 will incur a $20 processing fee for cancellations. If a class or workshop does not fill, the studio reserves the right to cancel it one week before the start date.
