ABOUT

Salida Ceramics brings the magic of clay to life through community. Our vibrant studio offers an inclusive space where artists can explore their creativity and build connection through clay.

The studio

All members and students have full access to the studio from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. every day.

The studio is designed to foster creativity with clay and accommodates wheel throwers, hand builders, and sculptors.

All members and students have access to seven Shimpo wheels, a slab roller, an extruder, work tables, a wedging table, banding wheels, molds, tools, oxides, underglazes, and glazes.

All work is fired in a Skutt electric kiln on site.

Memberships and classes

Each member and student has their own shelf to manage their work, as well as store tools and clay.

Members and students have access to six clay bodies that are purchased in the studio. The clay includes the cost of glaze and firing.

Diversity and inclusion

Diversity and inclusion are central to the mission of Salida Ceramics. Artists of any background, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ability are welcome. We believe these diverse experiences and perspectives enrich our clay community and we are committed to providing a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

Scholarships

Need-based scholarships and sliding-scale are available to support students and members in joining the studio.

Gallery

We plan to open a gallery space for members to sell their work, which will be open on First Fridays.
